HISTORY
In a field where there is always a new guy bringing some new tricks to the game, DJ L constantly ups the ante. A dj with a workday that spans way beyond the dj booth; L is endowed with the rare ability to wear many hats – as a DJ, model, artist, actor and a young mogul. To date, DJ L is quickly becoming one of the most sought after djs in the industry.

“I’ve always believed in the importance of creating a name and following for myself by being able to do many different things -whether it’s by djing, modeling, acting, or even anything else.” says L of how he christened his imprint. “I am always working my work ethic is very different from most people.”

DJ L, borne Lohrasp Kansara and of Indian descent, was raised in Geneva, Switzerland; He then migrated to the United States at the age of 15 in order to pursue his dream of as a professional basketball player. After graduating college with an astounding 4.0 GPA in Economics in 3 years, from SUNY Purchase; DJ L relinquished his basketball career and devoted his full attention to a music career.

As a deejay, L is called upon to create the musical atmosphere – better known as “The DJ L experience.” L taps into his versatile musical repertoire, encompassing everything from hip-hop, r&b, reggae, house, 80′s, classic rock, pop, and mash-ups, and the latest chart-toppers. He effortlessly blends musical genres no matter the client or setting — preserving crowd’s energy and enthusiasm is L’s main delight. L deejays about 4 to 5 nights a week. Some of DJ L’s past and present clients include Leonardo DiCaprio, Alex Rodriquez, Madonna, Danity Kane, Busta Rhymes, Swizz Beats, Lola Love, Pussycat Dolls, LL Cool J, MTV, BET 106 and Park, NBA, NFL, Baby Phat, and other popular brands and artists. Indeed, DJ L travels throughout the country and has gained residency at some of the most exclusive venues in New York City — as well as, being booked internationally spinning all over, making stops in Orlando, Miami, Houston, Chicago, Atlanta, LA, Canada, Haiti, Jamaica, Antigua, Switzerland, Germany, Paris, Japan just to name a few.

DJ L’s music success is not limited to his work in the nightclub. He has subsequently released a song; in the summer of 2008, “Take it to the Top” which features major recording artists — legendary reggae artist Junior Reid, Cassidy, Sheek Louch, Joell Ortiz and his artist, Harlem’s Cash. Setting yourself apart from others in the highly competitive music business is not a simple task. For some, it is nearly impossible, for L it’s his main objective.

Nonetheless, music and fashion seem to go hand in hand for Dj L. He recently inked a deal with one of the top modeling agencies, Ikon Model Management – becoming the face of M07 Clothing; as well as, part of the national campaign advertisement. DJ L has joined the ranks with other top celebrity DJs who have expanded their brand by diversifying themselves in other areas of media and entertainment.

Just to date, DJ L has been featured in Page Six of New York Post, Complex, XXL, VIBE, The Source, Hip Hop Weekly, YRB, Rap Fanatic, Rap Up, Tableist and other notable publications. There is no stopping him. L has also co-starred in many music videos from Busta Rhymes, O’Neal McKnight, DJ Khaled, British Pop artist, Lei-An and many more.DJ L is also currently the official in-house dj for BET’s number one rated show, “106th & Park” and is featured almost every day.

On top of everything, DJ L plans to take over Hollywood as an actor. With the recent completion of a short film, he is currently enrolled in the very prestigious acting school, Black Nexxus, in New York City; where he trains with the world’s number one acting coach- the legendary, Susan Batson. This young DJ will be a driving force in the entertainment world for quite some time, so definitely pay close attention to what great things are to come. DJ L states: “The past does not exist anymore…the future does not belong to me…today is a gift…it is why we call today the present…Life is what you make it” And no individual more truly embodies the second part of this maxim.
